VBP is proud to announce that our colleague Rana Abdelnabi recently participated in a specialised training program on implementing the ISO 35001:2019 Biorisk Management Standard, held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The training, titled “Developing a Pathway to ISO 35001:2019 Accreditation for High Containment Laboratories”, forms part of the EU-funded INTERCEPTOR Consortium’s Work Package 2, which focuses on reinforcing global capacity in high-containment laboratory biosafety and biorisk management.
Over the course of the program, participants explored practical strategies for aligning laboratory operations with the ISO 35001:2019 framework. The sessions provided valuable insight into building safer, more resilient laboratory systems and highlighted the importance of continuous improvement in biorisk management practices.
Rana’s participation reflects VBP’s ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, preparedness, and operational excellence in containment laboratory environments.
