VirusBank Platform was honoured to be invited to the University of Liège for the presentation of the Institute of Epidemics (InDeEp) project to the Belgian federal and regional Ministers of Health.
The InDeEp initiative aims to strengthen Belgium’s ability to anticipate and respond to human and animal epidemic crises by mobilising complementary scientific expertise in a coordinated and timely manner. The presentation marked an important moment of recognition for the project and its ambition to build a more resilient national response framework.
On this occasion, VirusBank Platform had the opportunity to present how its integrated virology infrastructure and rapid-response capabilities contribute to Belgium’s broader epidemic and pandemic preparedness. The event underlined the importance of a partnership-driven approach, one that brings together public health actors and scientific institutions to reinforce preparedness both before and during crises.
National and international collaboration remains central to early signal detection and effective response when it matters most, and initiatives like InDeEp are a meaningful step in that direction.
